The Horniman is a fantastic location for all types of filming and photography.
Our unique spaces include a Victorian-era Natural History gallery, with original specimens and wooden cases, a magnificent Victorian Conservatory, stunning Aquarium displays and 16.5 acres of beautiful Gardens locations with spectacular views over London.

The Museum houses over 350,000 objects from all over the world covering world cultures (anthropology), natural history and musical instruments, many of which are available for filming and photography by special arrangement.

Student filming enquiries
We offer a reduced student filming rate of £50.00 + VAT per hour.
All shoots must meet the following requirements:
- Filming must take place between 0900-1030, Monday-Friday
- There may be a maximum five people in the cast and crew and they must be accompanied by a member of Horniman Museum and Gardens staff
- The hour on site includes set up, shoot and strike.

Photography for Personal Use
Note that you are free to photograph and film in the Museum and Gardens on a small scale for personal use. Visit the Planning Your Visit pages for more information.
We can also offer spaces in our gorgeous gardens to capture your wedding memories.
All proceeds from our commercial activities support the Horniman's extensive learning programme and maintenance of the Museum and Gardens.
