About this event

Wander around our collections at night and enjoy music, theatre, workshops, tours and surprising performances across the galleries and Gardens. As part of Museums at Night.

Theatre by The People Show

University of Roehampton students perform alongside theatre renegades People Show in this collaboration. Come and explore the Horniman spaces and see them in a new light – you’ll stumble upon intimate vignettes and gregarious scenes as they take over the building and fill it with theatre inside and out. People Show are a collective company of artists who form the UK’s first experimental theatre company, always shifting shape, actively defying definition…

Storytelling by Olivia Armstrong

Explore the Gardens after hours and hear mysterious night-time stories, from tales of lost love and death to the story of the man who fought his own shadow.

Arts & crafts and facepainting

Make your own Museums at Night headband with artist Judith Hope, get your face painted or learn the art of guerrilla gardening by making seed bombs.

Garden tours and talks

Explore hidden corners of the Horniman Gardens, from the Nature Trail to our Gardens Nursery, and find out more about our plants and history.

Museum tours and talks

Discover the weird and wonderful secrets behind our collections: join tours of our Natural History collections by Deputy Keeper of Natural History Emma-Louise Nicholls, try object handling with the Keeper of Anthropology Robert Storrie or meet artist Daksha Patel for the premiere of her new installation, Pani.
