Our unique hire spaces - the Conservatory, Pavilion and Bandstand - are licensed for wedding and civil ceremonies.

If you are looking for a unique venue for your special day the Horniman can be used for your wedding ceremony, your reception or both. 

An icon of south London, any ceremony at the Horniman will be a remarkable event, whether you are looking for something small and intimate or something larger.

Hold your ceremony under the beautiful Victorian Conservatory roof, or against a backdrop of the London skyline. Dance the night away in the Pavilion with our alpacas looking on, or across black and white Victorian tiles in the Conservatory.

Our weddings are all managed and booked through Suzanne James, award-winning caterers of distinction and dedicated caterers for Horniman events.

Useful Information

  • Live and amplified music are permitted in all venues
  • An extension until midnight is available in the Conservatory and Pavilion
  • The nearest station, Forest Hill, is just a 10 minute walk away. Forest Hill station is a direct 15 minute train journey from London Bridge station and a 25 minute train journey from Victoria
