Raymond Briggs’ The Snowman (1982)

Magically re-create the sound FX of an owl, bauble, toothbrush, musical box, running tap, feet jumping through the snow, or tearaway motorbike before enjoying Dianne Jackson’s animated classic.

4 January

Orchestra of Seasons

A collection of clips from:

  • Lotte Reineger’s The Grasshopper and the Ant (1954)
  • My Neighbour Totoro (1988)
  • Seasons (1969)

Become dancing frogs, caterpillars, mice and squirrels from the lovely autumnal silhouette animation of The Grasshopper and the Ant. Capture the magical growth of spring in two much-loved scenes from Studio Ghibli’s most favourite animation, My Neighbour Totoro: come prepared with your loudest catbus Miaow! And finally, a beautifully crafted animation inspired by Tchaikovsky’s Seasons reveals a stunning stop-frame world layered in lace, with golden leaves transforming into fish or ice creatures bursting into snow.

Seasons (1969)
