The Mantis Muse: Screen printing
Make your very own souvenir inspired by The Mantis Muse.
Learn about screen printing and walk away with your very own artwork inspired by David Shrigley’s The Mantis Muse sculpture. Gary from The Private Press will talk you through the art of screen printing and teach you how to use a squeegee, frame and non-toxic ink to make your own paper print.
All materials will be provided, and children must be accompanied by an adult throughout the event.
There will be various 15 minute sessions throughout the day.

The Mantis Muse
The 3m-tall sculpture, The Mantis Muse by celebrated artist David Shrigley, has taken residency in our Conservatory this Easter holiday. The artwork highlights the essential role that art plays in education.
Visitor information
- Your ticket entitles you to one print. Ticket holder may purchase additional prints on the day.
- Everyone taking part in the workshop must have ticket.
- Please arrive at the Conservatory five minutes before the workshop begins.
- Parents and carers, you will need to stay with your child while they take part in the workshop. Smaller children may need some assistance.
