The Wonderful Adventures of Mary Seacole in Many Lands

Come along and listen to the wonderful adventures of Mary Seacole, the 1800s war nurse, who will tell you her amazing story.

This is a family-friendly storytelling performance by musician, poet and storyteller Helen McDonald, performing in character as the British-Jamaican nurse and natural healer Mary Seacole in the Horniman Gardens every day during half-term.​​ Each performance lasts approximately 30 minutes.

Please be aware that as these are outdoor performances they may be cancelled in the event of bad weather.

Performances are free and are not bookable in advance, places will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis.  Space will be limited due to ensure social distancing, and visitors must sit within their family group and remain seated during the performance.

Please note these performances are not suitable for groups of more than six people, such as play schemes.
