Janet Vitmayer, Director of the Horniman said: "We're delighted to have been shortlisted by Kids in Museums, it's a real accolade as we have such empathy with their manifesto. We pride ourselves on being family-friendly, indeed 20% of the visitors that we welcome are under five, and it's great to see the hard work of the Horniman staff recognised by the committee."
The Horniman was previously shortlisted for the Award in 2006.
