Happening at the Horniman: April 2019

Spring into action and take a look at all the Easter goodness we have across the holiday period and the rest of April.

Brick Wonders successfully launched in February. The exhibition features 50 wondrous marvels from across the world and our history, from the Great Barrier Reef to iconic landmarks such as Old London Bridge and an Ancient Egyptian pyramid. Visitors can build their own awesome creations in our two interactive play areas, take on the tower-building challenge and add to our graffiti wall.

Award-winning director and photographer James Morgan highlights the lives of the Bajau Laut, the last remaining true marine nomads. For generations, the Bajau people have adapted to aquatic environments. Sea Nomads shows their efforts to conserve their culture, adapting to the changing environment. Visit Sea Nomads in the Balcony Gallery.

Discover The Lore of the Land by Serena Korda and the Collective in the Studio Space. The challenging exhibition features 100 objects from our anthropology collection, scented ceramics and a soundscape that reflects the chemical process in plants.

Always Part of the Story depicts hidden and visible aspects of disability. The display from The Access Advisory Group shows that the world can be experienced and understood in many ways. The display is on until June 2020 in World Gallery.

Don’t forget to drop into the Natural History Gallery and say hello to Bengal tiger taxidermy, on loan from the Natural History Museum. We wave goodbye to the tiger in May 2019.
