Home Education Careers Day
The Horniman Museum and Gardens welcome nearly 1 million visitors a year.
We offer diverse career opportunities, from working with museum objects to creating exhibitions, teaching visiting learners, and caring for the Gardens and animals.
In our galleries, you can explore collections of taxidermy, world cultures and music, and visit our living aquarium. Outside the museum building, you can enjoy our beautiful gardens, Animal Walk and Butterfly House.
This careers event is an opportunity for home educated learners aged 12–17 to meet our curators, learning officers, gardeners and aquarists among others, to see where they work and hear what they do.
All staff involved in the event are currently working on the Horniman’s Nature & Love project, offering learners a unique insight into how this initiative is shaping the museum’s work. We will take you behind the scenes of our museum and living collections to explore the hidden roles that are essential to the running of our museum, so you can explore whether a career in museums might be for you!
