game pieces

50 glass marbles in a variety of colours. These are the 'pawns' in a tactics board game played in a similar manner to the English game 'Fox and Geese'. The pawns can win the game by driving the three kings out of the fortress at one end of the board, and filling it up with their own men. The instructions (10.11.58/1iv) suggest that a stalemate can be forced by trapping one or more of the kings (10.11.58/1iii) within the fortress so that they cannot move.
