Painted Lamaist sacred clay figure of a yellow hat (Gelugpa) Lama. The figure is seated in padmasana position with the right hand in bhumisparsa mudra. The right rests on the lap. The outer robe is darped over the left shoulder. The Tibetan inscription on the back reads 'precious abbot of Ganden'. The abbot of Ganden monastery is the official head of the Gelugpa school.
