Flute in D, cocuswood body, silver keys and mounts, cork lapped tenons. Boehm's system of 1832, with open G sharp (hinged key) and conical bore. The pitch is well below typical English pitch of the period. Recessed embouchure-hole, tending towards square shape. The cover-plates are shallow-cupped and riveted to the lever-arms. Rod-axles mounted on pillars are used throughout. Movable cork-faced hardwood stopper. The needle-springs now in use are probably not original features. Bore markedly oval. Foot chipped at open end. An excessively thick pad prevents the B flat key opening. Sounding length (embouchure to foot) is 59.2 cm. Stamped: Th. Boehm A. Munich.
