Valve trumpet in F, copper with white metal garland, ferrules and mounts. Mouthpiece, plated brass, presumed original. Two Stölzel valves, two tuning bits and crooks for E, E-flat, D and C, caps for valve touches, mouthpiece, original case. Tuning slide. Bell garland deeply embossed with rose, shamrock and thistle design; cut-out plaque on upper bell flare with similar floral motif. Separate oblong plaque engraved in script: Improved & Made by/CHAS PACE/Musical Instrument Maker to/HER MAJESTY'S GUARDS/49 King Street Westminster. Leather swing tag attached to body - probably Carse's label. In wooden case, painted black, red fabric lining.
