茶碗, chawan/te-oan. Tea bowl of conical form with a small foot and slightly recessed base. The body is made of a coarse dark brown stoneware. The bowl is covered with dark brown iron glaze, medium lustre and opaque, which ends at the lower part of the exterior. Tea bowls of this type were made in Fujian province of South China from the 10th - 14th century.
