sword

Turkish 'Kilij' sword with a wooden handle, steel blade and a distinctive quillion block.

A Turkish 'Kilij', the same style of sword would be described as a 'shamshir' in Persian. Kilij were used across the Ottoman world and there were many centres of production in the Balkans. The quillon block in this instance is unusual, perhaps a local pattern. The handle is of wood or horn.
