necklet (neck ornament (personal adornment))

Shell & bead woman's necklet. Eleven strings of shell beads, each string passing trhough two brass rods half way along. Between the rods the strings are threaded through three beads, mostly one red bead with a black one to either side. The section of rod and beads hangs at the centre of the necklace. At the nape of the neck the right hand string terminates with a red bead threaded towards the end; on the other side there are only the plain shell beads. Some string extends at the ends for tying.
