Turned and carved tankard with burwood body, hinged lid and handle on four feet with pattern of vertical incisions and a row of dentate motifs. On the top of the lid is a central raised decoration of a lion, probably representing the royal lion of Norway, surrounded by a border of parallel incised lines. The lid has a thumb lift in the shape of a seated lion, and there is a rosette on the outside of the ends of the hinge pin above the handle. There is a block of plant material inside the tankard.
