



Painted wooden tankard with handle and hinged lid. Formed of a number of vertical staves tapering towards the top arranged in a circle, held together by a piece of string and set around a circular base. The handle is carved out of one piece with the vertical section and incorporates the pin on which the lid pivots. Painted on the sides with flowers and with a scallop border below; the top of the lid carved with hearts and flowers, and possibly the initials T and S, with a knob set above a lozenge-shaped washer. Inscription painted in black on the inside of the lid.
