"Tsuba" or sword-guard (iron). Round in shape (Maru gata). Top part of circumference flattened. Three apertures (Nakago-ana, Kozuka Hitsu-ana, Kogai Hitsu-ana) and may other cut-outs. Pine tree at top right, human figure carrying something at top left, human figure holduing a fan (?) middle right, man reading a book (?) bottom right, man with table and book bottom left. Signature of maker (Nyudo Soten) to the left of Nakago-ana. Another inscription to the right.
