Whey ladle. Wide handle, tapering towards the end, reddish brown colour. The bowl of the ladle is oval, deep and slightly curved. No designs. (Maple wood). Length 810mm, width of bowl 190mm.
A whey ladle, from Salva. The handle protrudes from the bowl at an angle, and would have allowed the cheese maker not only to ladle out whey from the top of the vat, but also to press down on the curd beneath it, forcing out more whey.
