A man's pale yellow silk (?) samping (short sarong). It has a wide patterned panel in the centre front, the 'kepala', comprising a vertical row of nine eight-pointed stars, flanked by a mirror image of floral patterning, worked in continuous supplementary weft, using gold-coloured metal-wrapped thread. Identical, geometric patterned borders both top and bottom are worked in discontinuous supplementary weft. The back French seam is machine stitched. [Textile]
