[One of a pair of] Shoes (pani berz). Sulaymani Region Iraqi Kurdistan. Mule type, high heel made out of odd bits of leather but no back; uppers are red cloth embroidered with wool and cotton chain stitch. Sole is leather curling around the toe. Upper soles are padded, back part in red, ball in black. Heel leather of ox hide, inner leather of sheep hide. Part of a woman's costume.Length 9.2 in.
