



Woman's short jacket made of deep indigo satin, with no collar and long wide straight sleeves. The jacket opens at the front, with an overlap fastening under the right arm with brass spherical buttons and loops. One knot button at neck, probably replacing a lost metal button. Embroidered in light blue silks on the main fabric in satin stitch and seed stitch in floral designs and auspicious symbols. On the body are floral sprays of the flowers of the twelve months including plum blossom, peach blossom, peony, magnolia, crab apple, chrysanthemum and orchid. There are also the Confucian treasure symbols of the musical stone, ruyi sceptre and twin lozenges. Embroidered panels for sleeve ends with scenes including human figures. White silk embroidered band sewn onto the entire edge. Lined in pale blue fabric.
