Rectangular cream barkcloth with rubbed and painted decoration. The textile is made from smaller sheets which have been pasted together. The light brown rubbed design divides the tapa into squares using narrow bands and stripes decorated with triangular and diamond patterns. Each square is subdivided by a central X-shaped motif. 2 triangles contain chevron pattern. The other 2 contain reciprocal dentate bands. The glossy dark brown pattern follows the outlines of the background pattern, and creates additional triangular motifs within the squares. These roughly half each chevron-patterned triangle.
