Rectangular stencil for textile dyeing made from brown paper stained and sized with persimmon juice. The cut-out design consists of 6 cherry blossom motifs. 3 of these are cut to create the repeat for an overall printed pattern ( 2 on either longer side of the complete ones at the centre, a third one at either shorter side). On the reverse is what appears to be part of a rectangular seal print, but this is illegible.
stencil (textileworking: dyeing & printing); textile tool
