Rectangular valance of red satin silk edged with ribbons and black satin trimming, lined with peach tabby woven fabric. Five loops spaced across the top for hanging. Embroidered with auspicious flowers and fruits, and the hundred antiques (bai gu), which consist of the followings: Four Arts, Eight Jewels, Eight Daoist and Eight Buddhist emblems, and musical instruments. These decorative motifs consist of five large vases alternating with six smaller containers, all of which stand on display stands. From left to right, top to bottom: 1. books and sword, vase with red coral, book and sword; 2. vase with chrysanthemum in front of zither (qin); 3. silver ingot and red coral, camillia in pot; 4. vase with narcissus in front of ruyi sceptre; 5. three gourds, fruit plate with melon, pomegranate and Buddha's hand citron; 6. vase with lotus, flanked by fish and musical stone; 7. mouth reed organ (sheng), fruit plate with peaches and Buddha's hand citron; 8. vase with orchid in front of a lotus; 9. gourd and fan, autumn crab apple in pot; 10. vase with peony in front of two scrolls; 11. chess, vase with scrolls, peacock feathers and fly-whisk.
