Nanjing Bridge, Yangtze River

Packet for four papercuts with pink, coarse paper cover inscribed with Chinese characters and illustrating the same bridge as in no. iv. The inscription ‘nan jing chang jiang da qiao’ is: 南京 ‘nan jing’, the name of a city in China, 長江 ‘chang jiang’, Yangtze River, 大橋 ‘da qiao’, bridge. The Chinese letters in seal script 玉瓊龍號尊紙 ‘yu cho long hao tzen tze’ literally mean ‘produced by the manufacturer: yu cho long hao’.
