Opera costume robe for female heroine of felted red woollen cloth with blue silk gussets and lower parts, lined with red cotton. The red panels are decorated with embroidery of dragons, in gold couch work, flowers and foliage in blue and white silk threads. Border in dark blue-black, with embroidered bat motifs. Two circular pockets for mirrors are attached to the front of the robe, each showing a finely embroidered figure of a man on a 'qilin', surrounded by motifs depicting the Eight Treasures. At the hem are tassels in blue, red, yellow and green, hanging from a latticework of light brown thread. Separate cloud collar stitched to back.
