Painted, paper kite with a bright, polychrome scene probably depicting the 12th century Genji warriors Takatsune and Kagesue at the 'Race at the Uji River'. On the back of the kite are some bamboo strips that has been stained red. Attached at the top is the kite string and a bamboo rod holder.
