A model carrying basket. A circular wooden base on a stand made of a coil of bark strapped on with cane strips which pass through holes in the bark. The main body of the basket is made from a sheet of bark rolled into a tube, with the outer frame of split and plaited cane, dyed balck and red. The top section has a split cane hoop around, bound at intervals, with a futrher bark section above, ending with a double hoop bound around the top. The section of body facing the wearer's back has a panel of wood strapped on, from behind which a plaited carrying strap possibly made of palm emerges, attached to each side. A second loop attached to the base is caught in by a strip of cane above the back panel. Both loops are probably for supporting basket on forehead. The container has a lid which is made from a rolled piece of bark and a flat piece of wood.
