snuff container; stopper (containers)

Snuff gourd, painted and lacquered, decorated with a scene: a man in turban, waistcoat and white shirt, seated beside a felt on the ground, in front of a trellis tent with six roof bands and two girth bands; behind is a boy with a stick, herding nine sheep and a dog, above is a flight of six geese. The stopper is of carved wood. The base is inscribed with a signature in Cyrillic and the name ‘Nukus’.
