One Tashkent model surnai (oboe) made by Usta Muhamed Jan Zargar, Tashkent, c. 1996. Apricot wood (prunus armeniaca). with engraved nickel-silver rings. Seven fingerholes and one thumbhole. Over all length 473mm. Plastic pirouette with applied chased metal (brass(?) , two double reeds (karmish) on string, made from reeds growing in local cemetery (dry place) nickel silver staple, pointed brass mandrel for reed making, cane reed guard, with brass piece with red stone at the centre from which all these items are suspended. $45 USD
