jar (containers)

Porcelain jar of barrel shape with recessed base and ring ledge below interior rim. Two rows of dotted protuberance on the upper and lower part of the jar. Covered with clear glaze; foot rim and ring ledge unglazed. Exterior painted with deep pink enamel with incised scrolling pattern, and with two reserved ogival panels enclosing landscape scenes painted in polychrome overglazed enamel, a landscape scene with a boat on a river on one side, and a boat in a bamboo grove on the other side. A mark in red enamel stamped on base: zhongguo Jingdezhen zhi (made in Jingzhen, China).
