An ivory brisé fan from China. The fan guards are carved with decorations of dragons, people and plants. The sticks are ivory with lace on them and satin threaded through joining each piece. On the opened fan there are pictures of birds, trees, fruit, leaves, flowers, people, horses and houses. A gold-coloured metal fastener holds the fan together at the end with a turquoise stone.
