Flute. African blackwood (grenadilla) with nickel silver-plated keys, ferrules and end cap. Eight keys, one missing. Keys are block mounted with saltspoon cups and leather pads. Five joints. String lapped tenons. Head joint and upper joint stamped: HAWES/LONDON; an emblem possibly of a lion appears above the upper joint inscription.
