Gogoray - spike fiddle with two wire strings (one used as a drone), two pegs, a bridge and a bow (gorokkod). It is held at the neck in the left hand with the resonator aginst the left side of the chest, while the right hand bows. It is used to accompany the voice. The resonator is made of coconut husk and goat skin, and the strings of the fiddle are made of sago palm fibers.
The gogoray is played upright, with the resonator pressed against the chest. It accompanies Sora vocal music, and also plays in various instrumental ensembles. It is used to accompany Sora devotional songs that are dedicated to the spirits of the departed.
