figure (art)

Ceramic bowl filled with a picnic scene. Five men in total: four men seated around a low table with a green cloth, ‘Dastarkhan’, with a bowl of fruit (grapes and apples), flatbread, non, and a white teapot, under a vine with bunches of grapes and green leaves. The figures (from left to right) are of four men seated with crossed legs: the first is a ‘grey beard’ with a white moustache wearing a green turban, blue shirt and trousers, white beard and eyebrows. The next wears a green turban, brown shirt and trousers, holding a tea bowl and looking up at a waiter. The next has black eyebrows and moustache, a bald head and holds a tea bowl and possibly a blue drum in his left hand. The fifth, emerging from the wall of the bowl has a white beard and holds a dish of rice, ‘plov’, with two brown sausages on top. The bowl has a pale brown, lobed body with a rim of impressed white lips and a flat base. The bowl is broken in one place on the rim and the first (left hand) figure has a broken base. The broken pieces are bagged separately.
