Transverse flute. Boxwood. Four silver block-mounted keys with circular flaps and leather pads. Four joints. Six ivory ferrules, of which one is missing. Tenons lapped with red waxy string. Foot joint has a tuning extension at lower end. Upper joint, lower joint and foot jointed are stamped: C.GEROCK/LONDON; maker's mark in the shape of a unicorn's head appears above the upper joint inscription.
