Friction drum, putipù . The body made of a tin 'boite metal' - according to the informants in the shop where the instrument was purchased, of a type normally used for tins of tomatoes. A band of green plastic encircles the tin at the base, and a red band of the same material secures the goatskin head to the top of the shell. A stick of the giant grass arundo donax, ridged with 9 internodes, is attached to the middle of the skin and decorated with ribbons of red, white and green (the colours of the Italian flag) at the top.
