Wide-brimmed circular hat rising to a peak at the centre, formed of sections of leaf between layers of strips of bamboo skin woven diagonally to form a lattice on the inner and outer surfaces of the hat. Three wider strips of bamboo run in concentric circles close to the rim which is edged with a length of bamboo wrapped in bamboo strips. The peak is reinforced with further strips of bamboo bound in parallel rows and plaited at four sides, culminating in a knot at the top. Bamboo strips are shiny on the outer surface, those on the inside are wider and coarser. A head band of bamboo woven in curvilinear shapes is attached at the centre of the underside.
