Basket set on a more or less rectangular foot formed of a length of bamboo. Bottom of basket of twill-woven strips of bamboo rising to form the sides. An outer wall of much finer strips of bamboo in plain weave covers this, the walls swelling out at the longer sides, then narrowing to form an oval opening at the top, which is bound with bamboo strip. The basket is decorated with a band of red-stained bamboo between the foot of the basket itself, 3 double bands of the same at intervals up the sides, with a final single red band just below the opening. Two loops formed of bamboo attached to one side of the basket to which is attached the strap, formed of plaited strips of vegetal fibre.
