manuscript

One of six handwritten manuscript pages from Qamdo, Tibet, made from black ink and written directly onto parchment. Two red lines demark the each side of the text. Much of the text has been scored through with a single black line.

All the seven lines of this folio are exclusively mantras in Sanskrit that are phoneticized in Tibetan characters (this refers to the side of the folio not marked with the object number in pencil). The mantras appear to be from the popular text: ‘brgyad stong pa’.
