A turned wooden kokeshi doll, Japan. The doll consists of cylindrical body and spherical head, features and hair on head painted in red and black, floral embellishment on front of body chiefly in red, the surfaces unvarnished. The base may have the name of the maker, but it cannot be read due to a superimposed sticker with numbers on it.
