
Mizmar, double clarinet, Kuwait, fourth quarter of the 20th century. The twin pipes with five pairs of fingerholes (no thumbholes), bound together with five bands of wire, and with a strip of sheet metal wrapped round the distal ends as a ferrule. The proximal ends are covered with black leather held in place by wire. Reeds absent. Used in Bedouin dancing. Presented by Major General Saleh Bin Yslam Bin Sumeida; Commander in Chief, Kuwait State.
