spear (hunting, fishing & trapping)

Karamajong hunting spear with hide protector. Karamajong, Uganda.

Confiscated by troops in the Kings Africa Rifles in Uganda when sorting out a cow dispute between the Karamajong and the Turkana on the Kenya Uganda border in 1958. These particular spears were part of a collection that a Karamajong warrior had fixed to a donkey ready for quick use when the need arose. The army took both the spear collection and also the donkey.
