'Large bore' tenor trombone with bell. Tenor trombone, 'Olds' model, nominal pitch B-flat, by Boosey & Co. London. Silver-plated brass with gold-washed interior; slides silver-plated with stockings. The bell bow with water key. Slide lock. The ferrules with repoussé floral decoration (the two ferrules on the bell bow are patterned differently from the others). Internal cork buffers. Modelled on an instrument/instruments by F.E.Olds, Los Angeles, U.S.A. The instrument is in (Boosey's) 'International Pitch' (ie. A=439). The diameter of the bore is 0.435 (in) - not large.
