Rod puppet, wayang golek, representing a refined male character, Satria Gondrong 'knight', or young hero type, with an inclined head. His eyes and hair in the style known as apit urang, or pinching shrimp. He has a diadem. A band of black curls of hair beneath his headdress at each side. Face painted cream. Garuda muncur (eagle looking backwards) in the headdress. Wears a gold bodice and apron, each decorated with a star in raised purlwork, the apron with fringing below. Sashes hang down from the waist. Green and cream parang design in the batik skirt cloth. An upper arm band and bracelet on each arm, each consisting of a plain lower section and an upper section with triangular painted designs. Articulated arms, from which hands project at right angles. Java, Indonesia.
