new year card

New Year card formed of a white piece of paper with a pierced and decorated border. Adhered to the card is a bouquet of different flowers with a ribbon at the bottom that has an inscription on it. The flowers have a piece of textile at the base which is threaded into the backing card; this mechanism allows the flowers to fall forward revealing a scene on the backing card and a message on the back of the flowers. The image on the front includes forget-me-nots and heart-shaped leaves, indicating that it functioned as a love token.
