headdress (clothing: headwear)

Child's headdress consisting of a curved band possibly of card, covered with bronze-coloured fabric at the front, decorated with metallic thread in a cuvilinear deisgn and interspersed with red sequins, and lined on the reverse with red machine-woven satin. To this is attached a length of silk gauze edged with a narrow strip of lace, which hangs double at the top over the face, single below. Secured at the back by two lengths of narrow tape, one threadedv through a loop at each side of the band. 940 long x 177 dia.
