A rectangular lid with deep sides and rounded corners. The box is made of wood and the surface is covered in black lacquer. The sides are decorated with depictions of flowers and plants in gold and silver. The top is slightly curved and is decorated with a picture of a palace, plants and trees in gold and silver. On two of the sides there are pieces cut away to make the lid easier to lift from the box.
